A Day at the Patch...The Pumpkin Patch That Is

This past weekend we took Carter to the pumpkin patch for the first time. We've been going to this patch for a couple of years now and we thought it'd be fun to take Carter with us. (Did you really think we'd go without him?)

Here we are on the hayride that you take out to the patch.

Here's Mason and Carter. Both of them dressed in their Halloween orange. Carter loved the tractors.

Here's me and Carter at the patch. That pumpkin made a good seat.

Carter's trying to pick out a pumpkin. He narrowed it down to three.

So we put the three in the cart to let him decide which one he wanted.

Then, once in the cart with the pumpkins, Carter decided he didn't really like any of those three pumpkins.

So off we went in search of a Carter-approved pumpkin.

Here's Mason and Carter with the pumpkin we ended up picking out. Not too big. Not too small. Most importantly, a good stem.

Where's Carter?

He's the bald pumpkin in the middle!

Even on his tip toes, he's not quite 2 feet tall yet.

Here's Carter and Mason after the carmel apple sundae. Next year Mason will have to share his sundae!

A Visit with the Great-Grandparents

Mamaw and Papaw came to visit this weekend and to see Carter.

Here's Papaw with Carter (his first name is Carter)
Here's Papaw, Mamaw, Carter and Fippy. Fippy knows she's not supposed to be on the couch. I guess that's why she's acting so meek here.

Here's Mamaw with Carter.

More Random Pictures for This Week

Carter first thing this morning.
Carter and his bear. I think he was trying to eat his bear...

Carter playing air guitar.

Carter sitting in his chair eating his hand.

Even Carter has a Napoleon complex sometimes.

Another picture of story time.

Carter being perfectly cute.

The Latest Mason "Fashion"

Apparently I need to remind Mason that when he gets old, Carter might just be picking out his nursing home! When will he ever learn?

One Day Carter will get his Daddy for Taking this Picture!

Mason thinks it's funny to make silly hats out of Carter's clothes when he's getting him dressed. His favorite is to make a nun style hat (the kind with wings). I chalk it all up to him being an English major. This morning was no exception. I'm sure that when Carter gets older and sees these pictures he'll be after his Daddy.

Welcome to my Crib

Preparations for Fall

It's beginning to look and feel a bit like fall finally. It's been a lot warmer than usual this fall, so we've been dressing Carter in mostly summer clothes. These pictures are from the first morning that Carter needed a coat to go to day care.

Homecoming Parade

This past weekend was MSU's Homecoming, so we decided to take Carter to his first Homecoming parade. Overall, I think Carter enjoyed the parade. On a side note...if you want lots of candy, bring a baby to the parade. Everyone throws the candy your way when they see the cute baby and because it's a baby, you don't have to share.

Carter and I waiting for the parade to start.
We're still waiting.

Apparently Carter isn't fond of loud noises. I'm sure he'll like fire trucks when he's bigger though.

Here's Mason protecting Carter's ears from the loud sirens. There were quite a few fire trucks in the parade this year.

Snuggle Buddies

Since Fippy isn't a very good nap time guardian, we decided to rely on our little lion friend to watch over and protect Carter during nap time.

The Carter-Sized Chair

Here's Carter trying out his new seat. It's specially designed to help babies who can't quite sit up on their own sit up. It's made so that the baby's own body weight helps him to sit. Here's Carter trying out his new chair for the first time.

It's Nap Time Again and This Time Carter has Company!

Nap time is one of Carter's favorite early evening hobbies these days. Of course, the extra nap means he wakes up more at night, but I don't mind.

Here's Carter with his guard dog Fudge. She likes to protect him while he's vulnerable.
Fippy's turn at guard duty.

Fippy asleep on the job. No wonder Fudge watches out for Carter so much. Fippy can't even stay alert on her watch!

She must have heard me complaining about her guarding skills!

Fippy's back asleep on the job again. Luckily Fudge was around to take over for her. I don't know why we keep Fippy. She doesn't earn her keep at all!
