Growing Up Carter

It's hard to believe just how fast Carter is growing up. It's crazy to think that's he's closer to being one year old than he is being a newborn. He's now officially a crawler. Yes, he can crawl forward now. He's made great strides in this department over the past couple of days. He's gone from crawling only in reverse, to crawling sideways and rolling wherever he wants to go, to now being a big boy and moving forward. He's got eight teeth (yep, I said eight!). He's finally got more hair now than when he was born and he's starting to act like a big boy.

Spring Has Sprung...Cuteness That Is

The weather is finally starting to be nice enough to let Carter venture around outdoors. Here are a few pictures from Carter's first real experience hanging out in the grass. I'm sure there will be many outdoor pictures to follow soon, but these will have to do for now.

Every rock star baby needs a sharp pair of shades. I guess since Carter's not a rock star (don't tell him that...he thinks banging on the table is the same as playing the drums), he's just have to look like a rock-star-wannabe.

The thoughtful-sunglasses-in-corner-of-mouth pose.

Similar thoughtful pose. We definitely have a thinker on our hands.

Carter wondering if the grass tastes good.

Trying to find out for himself just how good it tastes. Too bad he's not that great on the hand-eye coordination thing yet.

He finally got it in his mouth.

Happy Easter

Carter enjoyed his first Easter. He didn't get his Easter basket until after church, but I don't think he minded waiting.

Carter playing with his Easter card. He loves opening cards (hint hint hint).
Checking out one of his eggs.
Fudge and Carter inspecting an egg.
Carter's first peep. I think he liked squishing it between his fingers moreso than actually eating it.

Dental Hygiene

Good dental hygiene is a must for everyone. It's not like you get multiple sets of teeth where you can just start over. Well, you do get a second attempt, but it's better to get it right the first time around instead of trying to teach an older child new tricks. It doesn't work well for dogs, so I doubt it'd work much better for children.

The steps to good dental hygiene:

Step One: Find a cute baby with teeth.

Step Two: Find an appropriate sized toothbrush and toothpaste and then brush brush brush!
Carter is demonstrating the brushing technique. While he may not have teeth in the gummy area he is brushing in the demonstration picture below, he is ensuring that he has healthy pink gums for a lifetime.

Sunday at the Park

The weather was finally warm enough to have a family fun day at the park.

Here's Carter before going to the park. He doesn't seem even the least bit excited about going to the park does he?

Carter posing on the slide. He's still too cool to actually slide down the slide on his own, but he definitely makes sliding look like the cool thing to do.

Here he is just a swinging away. He's still not sure if he likes this swing or not. It doesn't have a fun activity bar like his swing at home had.

Action Shots

Here are a few random shots taken of Carter over the past few weeks. He's growing so fast that it's hard to keep up, but he's still as cute as ever.

Carter playing with his feet. He loves to be naked and play. Silly boy!

Catching ZZZ's

Carter is well known for his creative sleeping habits. For about a week or so he decided that it'd be fun to sleep with part of his body sandwhiched between his bumper pad and his crib railing. While some people would find this scene alarming, we found it cute and very Carter-like. No worries...no small children were harmed in the taking of this picture.
Here's Carter's most famous sleeping pose. He loves to spoon his bumper pad. We're starting to notice a little dip in his mattress because he always sleeps in the exact same pose.
